My thanks to association member Peter Davis (315th) who has sent me details of the Military Aviation Heritage Network. For those of you that enjoy visiting aviation museums or historical aviation sites, there are hundreds to be found in England.

  1. All very nice to have the air museums of England listed. What about Scotland? Are we still in the United Kingdom?

    1. Hello Anthony,

Please see the information below below which I hope will answer your question. This information was copied from the Aviation Military Aviation Heritage Networks website, a link to which I posted on the Notice to which you refer.

‘The Military Aviation Heritage Networks development programme, which is funded by Historic England, aims to publicise existing networks where they already exist and establish new regional networks where they are needed. We are also working on compiling a database of all publicly accessible aviation heritage sites in the UK and working on developing heritage trails to encourage visitors to visit a number of aviation heritage sites in an area’.

      Best regards
      Alan

      1. Hello Alan
I did not delve too far into the MAHN website so thanks for your reply. I still think that MAHN have been a long time in researching the Scottish Air Museums. Possibly politics come into it as one of them, that I know of, is part of the Scottish National Museum.
I know of two museums, well worth visiting, one in Dumfries and the other in East Lothian. Website details below if want to advise anyone else who might be interested. My days of visiting are over I’m afraid but I will have to take my great grandson to Cosford sometime this year.
