Brief History
Joined the Royal Air Force in January 1958 at RAF Hereford as a member of the 33d Entry. Trained as a Pay Accountant and passed out from RAF Bircham Newton in July 1959. Commissioned as an Admin Secretarial Branch officer in September 1979. Retired from the Royal Air Force in March 1997.
Employed as the Company Secretary of a Group of five Vauxhall Dealerships from June 1997 until retirement in December 2006.
Joined the Association in 1998 and became a Committee member in 2006 and Chairman in 2011. Retired as Chairman and became the Vice-President in June 2025.
Married Diane in 1962 and the father of two boys. Sadly, all my family have since passed away.

Employed with Rotherham MBC, in Strategic Human Resources: Managing, Delivering Staff elearning, IT Training and Learning and Resource Centre Manager. Accredited Microsoft Master Instructor and NVQ Assessor and Adviser. BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Co-ordinator and Management Representative. Took Early Retirement in June 2009.
Hobbies include learning to play the Piano.

42nd Entry (Supply)
1962 – 1999 Multiple tours home & abroad, including one tour on Movements at RAF Muharraq in Bahrein. Retired from RAF Leuchars in 1999 and settled in St Andrews, the Home of Golf, working for the St Andrews Links Trust as the Warehouse Manager. Now retired, still resident in St Andrews, being a member of two golf clubs, serving on both Club committees and playing competitive golf 12 months of the year.

Brief History
38th Entry Clk Sec at Bircham 9/59 to 4/61, left the service 4/73
Civilian life mainly in financial services, managed to retire aged 60 & have been a voluntary Specialist Benefits advisor with AgeUK Northumberland for the past 15 years. Commissioned into the RAFVR(T) in 79, working with the Air Training Corps ever since. OC No 2447 (Calder Valley) Sqn in the 1980’s. Moved from Yorkshire to Northumberland in 96 and continued with 1801 (Alnwick) Sqn as a CI, being too old for uniform, retired gracefully aged 80
