I note the number of ex Admin Apprentices attending the annual reunion becomes smaller every year as we all decline through death and bad health. Must admit I have not attended for seventeen years following the death of my loving wife of fifty years of marriage. I suppose we have all been lucky compared with many previous members of the
Royal Air Force who did not live beyond their twenties in WW2. I dont recommend living alone in my late eighties but always nice to hear from ex Apprentices of my era in the mid 1950,s, When I served as a sergeant at Tangmere in 1965/66 I worked in the Supply Squadron with a Flying/Officer Robin Springett with whom I still keep in touch. In fact, he is coming to stay with me next weekend . I wonder if any of the ex suppliers ever came across him. He did retire as a Group Captain. On occasions we used to go hare shooting in his open top Morris Minor across Tangmere airfield as we both had shotguns at the time. Charles {Jimmy} James 24th entry
