Jet Age Museum Gloucester Big Band Event 2025

In my capacity as the Association Website Manager, I have been kept in touch with plans to hold a big band event at the Jet Age Museum in Gloucester in 2025. The organiser, Mr Gary Lewis is a video maker with a particular interest in the wartime Hawker Typhoon fighter most of which were produced at Brockworth (later home to the production of the Gloster Meteor). Gary recently visited the superb Jet Age Museum where it is currently restoring a very rare Hawker Typhoon cockpit and fuselage section and considering this was found in a local scrap yard in Gloucester they are doing a remarkable job on it.

Gary tells me that together with his Big Band music connections he is working with the museum to put on a concert / music event there in 2025 and if this goes ahead he thought it would be an ideal opportunity to invite some of our members as guests, to enjoy hearing aircraft related movie themes such as “The Dam Busters”, “633 Squadron” “Battle Of Britain” and “Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines”, as well as a few vocal numbers sung by Gary himself.
I am sure that this event will be of interest to soome of our members. I will keep the membership informed of developments via the Noticeboard and the Assicuatuib Bewsketter,
