Calling ALL Veterans: Have YOUR SAY On The Governments ‘Strategy For Veterans’
    by Cop(ex)
The Ministry of Defence has put out a request asking for Veterans and the general public to have their say on how Governments, both current and future, will be expected to look after the men and women who risk their lives in order to protect this country.

Surveys such as this one are vital as they give our veterans the chance to shape and mould future strategies in relation to the kind of help and assistance which our Veterans both deserve and need.

If you have a family member or friend in the armed forces, then this is a great opportunity for you to have your say as well.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence said:

‘On 14 November, the UK wide Strategy for our Veterans was published.

‘The strategy set the principles and aims needed to continue to meet the needs of older veterans as well as the wider Veteran community over the next ten years, and set the right conditions for society to empower, and support, them for the next 100 years.

‘This UK government consultation paper complements the Strategy for our Veterans, by gathering information to inform how it could be implemented across the UK except for devolved matters in Scotland and Wales.

‘It seeks broad public views on focused questions, to build on the research and engagement conducted to produce the strategy, against a backdrop of what is already delivered.

‘This paper should be read in conjunction with the strategy.

‘The content of that document, focused on what the outcomes should be and why, is not subject to public consultation.

‘Alongside this public consultation on implementation, the UK government will continue to work on internal proposals that were raised during production of the strategy and implementation plans.’

You can access the online survey (standby for link) or you can email: or you can write to:

Being a Veteran myself, then I think that is positive that the Veteran community, their loved ones and friends as well as the wider public, are being consulted in this way.

We have a duty to look after the brave men and women who risk their lives in order to try and maintain the security of this country.

This kind of ‘outreach’ work will also hopefully show, in some way, to the future generations of our armed forces – as well as those who are currently serving – that their service DOES matter.

So please take this opportunity to have YOUR SAY!

Your voice and opinion does matter so surely it would be silly not to use it?

If you have a story, video or one-off blog that you would like to share with us, then you can contact our team of former emergency services & armed forces personnel either through our Facebook page, via Twitter ( @ES_News_ ) or you can contact us via email:
